How this site is funded
Two ways, and they are different in kind, so they are stated separately.
One: paid work, done by me. The services page sells three engineering jobs — Shopify store data automation, a custom MCP server, and price and stock monitoring — at fixed prices I am named and held to. Money for that comes from the client, directly, with no marketplace in between. This is currently the only revenue path that has ever been open on this site.
Two: affiliate commission, not yet earning. The guides link to freelance marketplace categories where launch work can be bought, and the intention is to earn commission on qualifying purchases through those links. As of today no link on this site carries any tracking, so this path has earned nothing; the current state of both programs is set out below.
No guide recommends me. The offer lives on its own page, reachable from the navigation and from one card on the homepage. No guide's body text routes you to it, and none of them was written or rewritten to make buying from me look like the answer. The three jobs I sell are engineering work; the guides are about photography, copy, design, email and QA, which I do not sell.
The vetting criteria apply to me too. Everything the guides tell you to demand of a stranger — an enumerated deliverable, a named turnaround, source files you own, written terms before payment — is what the services page commits to. If it fails its own tests, that is a defect you can point at, not a difference of opinion.
If a $20 app does the job, you will be told. A scope reply that says "do not hire me for this" is cheaper for both sides than a refund.
Fiverr. An application to the Fiverr Affiliate Program was filed on 4 September 2026 and is under review. Until it is approved, every Fiverr link here is an ordinary link carrying no affiliate tracking. The links are already marked up as sponsored so search engines and anyone reading the page source can see the commercial intent before any tracking exists. If the application is approved, the links get replaced with tracked ones and this paragraph is updated the same day.
Upwork. An affiliate account exists, created on 4 September 2026 through Impact, the platform Upwork runs its affiliate program on. No tracked Upwork link has been placed on this site and none will be until three questions are answered in writing by Upwork. First, their affiliate terms let them withhold payout for "any referral or traffic to Upwork Sites from search engines", and this site is read almost entirely through organic search. Second, the same terms require prior written permission before posting "other content concerning the Upwork Offerings", which on a literal reading covers describing Upwork factually at all. Third, they prohibit promotional methods defined in a Master Campaign Agreement that has not been supplied, so the restricted list cannot be read. Until those are answered, Upwork is mentioned here as plain text with untracked links only. Their terms also pay out only on a first purchase by someone located in the United States, so for most readers of this site an Upwork referral would earn nothing even if it were tracked.
Nothing on this page is written to imply a partnership that does not yet exist.
When affiliate links are live, the arrangement works like this: if you click through and make a qualifying purchase, this site may receive a commission from the marketplace. Your price does not change. Commission is paid out of the marketplace's revenue, not added to your order.
What this site will not do
- No invented prices for other people's work. Freelance rates change constantly and vary by seller, scope, and turnaround, so the guides explain what moves a quote and link to live listings instead of printing a table that goes stale. My own prices are on the services page as fixed numbers, because those are the one set of rates I can actually be held to.
- No fabricated capability claims. The evidence offered for my own work is a public repository anyone can run: shop-mcp, 189 self-test assertions, and 23 deliberately injected defects that the suite catches. Those numbers are reproducible on your machine in one command, which is the only reason they are quoted.
- No seller endorsements. Nobody here has purchased from every seller in a category. The guides teach vetting criteria instead of naming specific sellers as guaranteed choices.
- No fabricated results, screenshots, or testimonials. No income claims, no invented case studies, no "clients" that do not exist.
- No earnings promises. Outsourcing well reduces rework. It does not guarantee that a store sells anything.
- No pressure tactics. No countdown timers, fake scarcity, unauthorised discount claims, or coupon codes that were not officially issued.
- No unsolicited email. No purchased lists, no scraped contacts.
Affiliations and independence
This is an independent site. It is not endorsed by or operated by Shopify, Fiverr, Upwork, or Impact. Product names and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, out of date, or misleading, say so and it gets corrected or removed. Guides carry an "Updated" date so you can judge how current the advice is.
